  1. Linda Linda says:

This book was written by my cousin's father in law about the village he was from in 1981 His son as a labor of love in 1994 translated and edited the bookIronically I found out from him that my father's father Peter Boyajian was from that village and I am certain that my Grandmother Annie Bandoian in an arranged marriage came from that village as wellI was in this village a few weeks ago and what was once a thriving alive village looked bleak and dirty though you could see the homes that must have been grand 99 years ago when all the Armenians were driven from that village It is part of Kharpert where over 210000 Armenians lived in 1915 In 1922 there were only 35000 left and they were left because they were 'useful' having trades that the Turkish government needed Additional reading would be 'In the Shadow of the Fortress' as Hussenig was surrounded by a very high wall
