Wonderful parallel stories I loved the characters I also loved the way the author blended her genealogical research into this fictional story I found myself deeply involved emotionally I would definitely recommend this book especially for those who are interested in Civil War related stories

  2. JoAnn Meaker JoAnn Meaker says:

Dual time lines skillfully woven together draw readers into the action filled story And true details from Four Branches of the author’s family tree provide a sound basis for this compelling work of historical fiction An avid genealogist the author interweaves two stories together from past and present inserting well researched true details from her own family tree

  3. Cosette Cosette says:

I received this novel through Goodreads First Reads Giveaway and I was rather disappointed The book sounded good on its description however I found the story very disjointed not well written and a bit far fetched I believe it would have been better if the author had kept just to the historical fiction part That was the most interesting part of the story
