This is a nice collection of art from the various Buffy series that came out as part of seasons 8 and 9 Panel to Panel is a misleading name since it's almost all cover art and doesn't really include any interior art I got this book as part of a Humble bundle so I can't really complain but I don't think it would have been worth the money to buy it as a standalone volume

It's good and the Art is stunning but if you own the library editions like I do there's nothing in this book that isn't in them I was uite lucky as I got it out of the library but if I'd bought it I would have been uite annoyed

The artwork is really fantastic and the collection is really inclusive I wish here were explanatory notes like the previous collection but I did really enjoy the art

There have been a lot of TV shows moviesto attempt to move to the comic field after their time in the sun had passedmostly these fade away like the half assed attempts they areThen you come to the works of Joss WhedonAcross the variety of his workall these titles have been embracedby the comic fieldperhaps this is because Joss is an enormous nerd himselfmaybe it speaks to the uality of the work on the comic sideI think it comes down to the comicversion not being written offas a half assed money maker by the people on the other endbutthe comics are seen as a legitimatecontinuation of the TV story lineall that saidthis book is the culmination of the philosophy behind the comic seriesit is a collection of covers from the various Buffy versetitles from season 8 9TV relativeLike the best comicsthis artwork is clever and fun

Posted originally on my blog The Writer's InkwellI might go back and forth on some of the story twists within the Buffy the Vampire Slayer comics but there's something that can't be denied there are some amazing pieces of art featured When I saw this book listed on my library site I thought it actually included the stories from the two seasons as well as from Angel Faith since I haven't yet been able to read those Even though it didn't it was extremely nice to see pieces of art that weren't featured in some of the volumes They were typically from the individual comics so these extras were a great little surprise as I looked through the book

Even if you haven't read Seasons 8 and 9 this is a great volume to look through The art is gorgeous and there are details about what some of the covers are tributes to I also learned that Jeph Loeb was part of development for a Buffy animated series at some point Anyway this is probably the last Buffy related thing I'll read for a while given that this is the last thing in the Humble Bundle I hadn't gotten around to reading

Picked it up from the library as an art student I couldn't help admiring the art work Haven't gotten past the first couple of episodes of the TV show plan to change that but you don't need to be a Buffy fan to admire all the hard work they put into the art

Panel to panel is a very misleading title It's actually just a nice art book featuring all the covers with a bit of text here and there and a few sketches A very lovely book; worth it if you like the series but certainly not panel to panel
