I liked browsing through this book just fine There are chapters on caring for your cat which include a lot of color pictures It is brief in these chapters than another cat book I found so this is not my preferred manual I was disappointed to see that after glancing through the 85 page section on cat breeds I reached a supplemental 5 pages of non pedigreed cats and read that 5% of house cats have pedigrees Yet they get 85 pages and mine get 5 pages? That seems to glorify breezed cats which is not the normal cat owner experience I suppose it simply means it is geared towards cat breeders and show cat owners Which is decidedly not me The dozens of cats we have provided homes for over the decades have all been rescues of some kind or another Well so be it It isn't the author's fault but it also made the book less attractive as a keeper

Very nice book with lots of pictures and a general overview of many different areas More than a couple of typos strangely but solid information
