Angst in spades you allOutcome wasn't violent like the first book and there was closure not just for Chase and Remy but for Cam and Austin too The first half of the book overflowed with melodrama Remy was a fucking mess drinking himself half to death going through the motions pretending he needed no one Chase was deeply in the closet still trying to please his failure of a father When Chase finally decides to talk to Remy there's clashing and angst and tears and GUILT Did I mention GUILT? Because yeah both men blame themselves for just about everything Remy was an utter asshole at the beginning; if he'd pushed Chase away any harder he would have dented cement But Chase didn't cave didn't lash out and once he broke through Remy's defenses it was beautiful The angst was worth it because once these guys got together about halfway through they were RIGHT and HOT together SO DAMN HOT Their first time was SEXY as all fuck I liked the secondary characters including Remy's friends Andy and Minna Chase's sister Adriana and Chase's employee Donna The theme while not original still rang true Family is what you make it Both Remy and Chase come to realize this and that along with their trust in and LOVE for each other helps them heal Dee smashed it out of the park with the epilogue in Aftermath but the epilogue here didn't disappoint either I loved seeing Austin and Cam again although I don't think the random chapters from their POV were necessary The POV shifts between Remy and Chase were enough even a little confusing at times Bottom line angsty but also steamy powerful and ultimately romantic read Worth the wait for sureHow did I miss this? OMG WANT IT THIS FUCKING MINUTE

35 StarsThe only thing Remy does these days involves spending money on booze and drugs He feels ashamed he feels guilty for what his brother you know him as the Psycho did to those men He thinks because he was related to that psycho so it means he’s a bad guy too He tried to apologize to Chase one of those men but after Chase told him Don’t ever contact me again everything got worse He’d gone from a relatively carefree twenty seven year old to a shell of a man who had aged ten years overnightI didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first book because it wasn’t a steady read for me It started to drag for me after a while And Austin and cam’s POV didn’t help either Told in multiple POV 3rd person It’ the second installment in the Aftermath series it can be read as a standalone but I think it’s better if you read it in order It’s a bit angsty with likable characters Overall it was a good read and hope you enjoy it as well

After reading Aftermath 3 times I figured it was time to move on to Outcome It scared me I wasn't sure how I felt about these two guys ending up togetherI have to say I didn't like this one as much as book 1 I think because the majority of the book we are dealing with Remy's addiction in one way or another I'm glad the author didn't magically cure him with a magical dick BUT I felt there was a lot of emphasis on him getting better instead of actual romance which is what I wanted I know Remy had issues and Chase did too Both of which needed to be dealt with But I needed to see of them coming together as a couple instead of constantly having to fight for their sanityOverall I enjoyed it but I didn't love it as much as Aftermath

375 StarsI didn’t like this one uite as much as book 1 but it was still a nice addition to the series But we did get a bit Cam and Austin so#winningThis one was pretty angsty and dealt with addiction which I really don’t care to read about So I think my lack of enjoyment or less enjoyment was because of that Still great writingand a good overall read

Original Review July 2016 Outcome is all about family And not necessarily the people related to you I always enjoy books that illustrate that family are those that really have your back regardless of their relation I've found that to be true in my own life and so I can especially relate to stories that have that themeRemy is a hot mess in Outcome He's bent on self destruction because he feels responsible for what his half brother Ben did because Remy gave him money Remy has spent his life trying to get his family to accept him but all they ever did was use him It takes him awhile to see that they are not family at all His true family are the ones that care enough to cuff him to a bed and make him sober up and reassess his life Chase is also a bit of a mess In his case though he just isn't dealing He is ignoring the aftermath of his captivity and his feelings of shame for being attracted to men His homophobic father has been dead for than a decade but Chase hasn't really moved on And he's not happySo yeah Remy and Chase have a lot of shit to work through I found their journey worth the pain though They both get family and closureThere is one thing that was wrapped up a bit too neatly though and it bugged me view spoilerAre you sure you want to read the spoiler? Last chance to back away view spoilerRemy's good for nothing brother Fred revealing parts of Ben's journal that outlined his actual reasons for choosing his victims I honestly could have done without that because it was just too wrapped up in a bow The letter really seemed out of character for Fred too hide spoiler

42 StarsNot as terrifyingly angsty as the last one but heart breaking all the same I love how these MCs became each others' strengths until they could be stronger for themselves

4 starsGoing into this book I kept having to remind myself that this wasn't Cam Austin or Aftermath These were two new guys in a situation that I was familiar with but an entire new story Boy is that hard to do when you've feel in love with Aftermath and probably re read that story so many time Chase Remy were so guilt ridden on both parts How I like to associate the two is Chase is ashamed Remy is heavily guilty The first 50% of the story wasn't what I thought it would beit was both self destructing in numerous ways Remy was so caught up in blaming himself that he decided to kill himself without actually trying in my opinion He is an alcoholic and self medicating Remy is on a downward spiral and going fast When I said he was trying to kill himself without actually doing it because be's a person that is spiraling bad but cares enough to tell a complete stranger to double up on the condoms while having sex What happens? Two people who care about him the most intervene in the smartest way possible Remy is just lost He is guilty about giving the money to Ben that funded his whole kidnapping mess In the end he does make a break through and is great He and Chase were able to make some adjustments about themselves for themselves and I liked it Chase I think the kidnapping was not so much big as it was to the others I think Chase whole mind was wrapped in out he was captured Basically his father was an homophobic asshole who couldn't support his family Those thoughts drove Chase to hide his sexuality for 20 years until that urge got him kidnapped While this wasn't Aftermath and by that I mean the attraction we see there these two attractions were there but overshadowed by the things that happened to them I really did like it Hopefully we get a book 3 I don't know with who but if I could choose I definitely want it to me with Cam Austin

Outcome (Aftermath, #2)★ [PDF / Epub] ☄ Outcome (Aftermath, #2) By Cara Dee ✪ – Thomashillier.co.uk Three years ago Chase Gallardo ran toward freedom with his fellow survivors after having spent five months in captivity He hasn’t stopped running since Only now it's the memories he's constantly try Three years ago Chase Gallardo ran toward freedom with his fellow survivors after having spent five months in captivity He hasn’t stopped running since Only now it's the memories he's constantly trying to escape Haunting echoes of a man who forced Chase to play the part of another the kidnapper's younger brother Chase may have survived but that doesn’t mean he's really living Until one day when his employee tells him there's a man sitting at the bar wearing only underwear Remy Stahl has given up—almost For a year alcohol drugs and faces without names have kept him company But he has two friends who refuse to give up on him and they lock him up in his house in an attempt to save him from himself But never underestimate an addict's desire to see the bottom of another bottle Remy escapes and he doesn’t give a rat's ass that he's nearly naked This is the seuel to Aftermath where Cam and Austin met struggled and fell in love Outcome takes us back to Bakersfield with Chase and Remy's story Fueled by anger guilt and shame they're not off to an easy start But it's only a matter of time before they learn how much they need each other in order to move on This story contains some violence drug use and scenes of an explicit erotic nature between two men and is intended for adults Characters portrayed are or older.

I'm often stoically silent or if the topic interests me a chronic rambler In other words I can discuss writing forever and ever Fiction in particular The love story—while a huge draw and constantly present—is secondary for me because there's so much to writing romance fiction than just making two or people fall in love and have hot sex There's a world to build characters to.
