In this second book in Amy Lane s Little Goddess Series Cory has left Greenshill to go to college in San Francisco Green is regretting that he had allowed Cory to leave but he had hoped, away from Greenshill she would be able to heal after all the dramatic events in book one but this hope seems to be in vain Cory is too deeply hurt and can t let go One night Cory calls out to Green for help and when he, Bracken and Grace arrive in San Francisco they learn that she was attacked by a fellow stu In this second book in Amy Lane s Little Goddess Series Cory has left Greenshill to go to college in San Francisco Green is regretting that he had allowed Cory to leave but he had hoped, away from Greenshill she would be able to heal after all the dramatic events in book one but this hope seems to be in vain Cory is too deeply hurt and can t let go One night Cory calls out to Green for help and when he, Bracken and Grace arrive in San Francisco they learn that she was attacked by a fellow student who had stolen her memory of all her firsts That is insofar bad because Cory can t remember what had happened when she summoned her power for the first time and the danger it creates for herself and all around her They discover slowly that this was on purpose and that a new and old enemy has risen to destroy themAgain I loved this second book and the continuation of the story of Green and Cory and all the others Bracken plays aprominent role in Cory s life now and I have to say I like him He s very protective of Cory and Green can t always be there for her because of his obligations for this people Nicky, her attacker is an Avian were creature and isn t a bad guy at heart,he is just mislead and followed only his leader s order But although he was portrayed as a victim to the evil intentions of his leader, I have mixed feelings for him and couldn t really warm towards him Maybe because in comparison to Bracken and Green he comes off not so well, being a bit too pathetic and feeling too much sorry for himself in my opinion It got onlycomplicated when due to unforseen events he was forced upon Cory as a mate Although Cory doesn t love him she s kind to him and maybe this plotline should only show us what a big heart Cory has I really could live without Nicky s addditon to Cory s men I refrain from writing harem. but only barely, lol Nonetheless it s again a wonderful story which isabout emotions and love than action and I m really hooked on this series Website of the author

In my review of Vunerable the first book of the series I mentioned that I didn t care much for the first half of the book, but I was glad I stuck with it and finished it Well, now I am evengrateful that I finished it because I can t imagine missing out on this book Wounded is all about Cory and Green and the rest of family of preternatural beings dealing with grief, but most of all, finding a way to heal Sometimes it just takes time I didn t find the story to be extremely sad like In my review of Vunerable the first book of the series I mentioned that I didn t care much for the first half of the book, but I was glad I stuck with it and finished it Well, now I am evengrateful that I finished it because I can t imagine missing out on this book Wounded is all about Cory and Green and the rest of family of preternatural beings dealing with grief, but most of all, finding a way to heal Sometimes it just takes time I didn t find the story to be extremely sad like some reviewers , mostly just touching and very emotional I am so glad that Bracken came into the picture and is there for Cory His personality is so great too He seems to be disgruntled and rough a lot of the time, but all in the name of love I juggled between giving this book 5 stars instead of 4 stars The only reason I gave it a 4 was because of the errors that could have been avoided with a semi decent editor I can look past most things, but I do feel it caused me to read it slower and I also had to re read a few parts just to figure out what the author was trying to say It didn t get in the way of the story, just a little bit frustrating at times Some reviewers complained about the over the top relationships, too much intercourse and non monogamous relationships in the first book, but I think the author presents it in a very tactful way and just plain hot and steamy Quite frankly, I m totally jealous of Cory and wouldn t hesitate a second to be in her shoes Great book, great series, can t wait to start reading Bound

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers To view it, click here For all it s faults, not a bad book, or a series It is a bit repetitive as the author restates her main character s reasons for the way she feels way too many times, and the editing at least on my kindle version was not that good.I also didn t really care how everything has to revolve around the main character I mean, I know it sort of has to, but it felt like the world would crash and burn which is patently not true if something happened to her It just felt like over sweet icing slathere For all it s faults, not a bad book, or a series It is a bit repetitive as the author restates her main character s reasons for the way she feels way too many times, and the editing at least on my kindle version was not that good.I also didn t really care how everything has to revolve around the main character I mean, I know it sort of has to, but it felt like the world would crash and burn which is patently not true if something happened to her It just felt like over sweet icing slathered on in a far too thick layer I was able to put that aside for the most part and did enjoy the other characters in the book farthan the main character. Not a huge spoiler, but I also didn t like that on top of being apparently tremendously talented magically, the main character can also sing superbly What Can she tap dance and do a shimmy too Oh I am sure she would It just made me roll my eyes a bit And does.every male in her vicinity have to drop and drool at her Just about Other than that well, I enjoyed it My quibbles are small, and if you can get the books of this series on sale, I do recommend reading them

If Laurell K Hamilton really understood what the ardeur was for other than an over complicated sex life, she might write a book like this one But she probably wouldn t because she doesn t have Amy Lane s worldview The Little Goddess series is appropriately sunlit because her main character, Corey, draws her power from the sun It shows us a universe where love and loyalty have magical power in themselves I find this series really sympatico.Wounded is even better than Vulnerable, the first bo If Laurell K Hamilton really understood what the ardeur was for other than an over complicated sex life, she might write a book like this one But she probably wouldn t because she doesn t have Amy Lane s worldview The Little Goddess series is appropriately sunlit because her main character, Corey, draws her power from the sun It shows us a universe where love and loyalty have magical power in themselves I find this series really sympatico.Wounded is even better than Vulnerable, the first book in the series I absolutely loved the resolution and the use of the song Rain Must Fall which was written by one of the characters The lyrics encapsulate Celtic history and the sacred cycle of Pagan Celtic religion

loves, the fearless foothill leader Green She left with grief in her heart and despair in her eyesfor she still mourns the death of her first lover, the vampire Adrian.Adrian was taken from her too soon, with too little to remember him by She and Green both grieve for him and miss him, but Cory feels the suffocating need to leave for school in San Francisco to deal with her wounded heart in private. And it is in this glorious new city that Cory is attacked A strange supernatural presence has stolen Cory s first s the most important of which are linked to Adrian. So Green, along with his faithful elf second, Arturo, Adrian s adopted brother and lover, Bracken and a cache of fighting fae leave for San Fran to protect Cory and get back what was ripped away from her Wounded is the second book in Amy Lane s paranormal romance series, Little Goddess.I went into this book a wee bit sceptical I did enjoy the first book of the series, Vulnerable , but was flabbergasted and somewhat disheartened by the ending in which Adrian sacrificed himself for his and Green s people I loved Adrian I thought he had a terribly tragic past and that there was lots of potential between him and Cory and what they bought out in each other I was looking forward to reading a series in which a romantic threesome was established and maintained Alas, that was not Amy Lane s intended trajectory for this series Wounded sees Cory and Green in the latter stages of their grief, which has been worsened by their distance and time apart When a malevolent being forces Green to rush to Cory s rescue, they are both forced to admit their feelings and struggles in the wake of Adrian s death Green must acknowledge that Cory will need to take another lover or two because as a sex healing fae, Green cannot give himself completely or monogamously to his beloved Meanwhile, Cory is surprised to learn that a college classmate has been crushing on her for four months, and that Adrian s adopted brother, best friend, romantic rival and sometimes lover, Bracken, is lusting after Cory and desperate to be her new bedmate.Despite the changing tides of Cory s affections as she opens her heart up to new lovers and romantic possibilities, Green is her constant Their love is spectacular, and open Yes, Green gives his body to numerous Sidhe and fae in order to heal emotional and physical wounds, as well as strengthen alliancesbut what he has with Cory is distinctly different in heart and tone His sexuality may be fluid and frequent, but Cory is a boundless love that Green has not had the pleasure of experiencing since Adrian came into his life I love Green and Cory, even if there s still a small part of me that believes Adrian was Cory sinteresting partner.Bracken is a surprising new addition to Cory s harem He was a sidelines character in Vulnerable , one who had a combustible and unfriendly first encounter with Cory But since Adrian s death Bracken has reassessed his intentions and decided he wants in Cory s bed and even apermanent place in her heart if she will allow I really liked Bracken he s a nice new romantic addition in replacement of Adrian and his being polar opposite to Green makes for a nice, fiery balance in Cory s life Bracken is possessive and jealous, and Cory knows that a relationship with him will be full of high drama and pitfallsbut by the same token he is caring and noble, and Cory feels safe in his arms like she hasn t done since her first lover s death Bracken and Cory are a somewhat tangled web, for Bracken s previous relationship with Adrian but as this series progresses Amy Lane really highlight how fluid and open the fae sexuality is, and as a reader you don t even bat an eyelash at some of the trickier couplings.Cory is slowly coming into her own in this book She made so much progression in such a short time in Vulnerable from an angry Goth girl, to lover of a fae and vampire, respectively But Adrian s death has put her two steps back in emotional development It s interesting to read her struggles with a changing world view while dealing with the very raw, human emotion of grief and loneliness My whole life I wanted I wanted to get out of the freaking foothills of California, but now all I can think of is going back, because I fell in love with Green s home, and Green s people, and now I want to be there again I mean I m what A hundred and fifty miles from home Too far Bracken murmured You re too far from home It feels like a hundred and fifty mile hole in my heart I told him, feeling that hole heal a little, just to say it Can you really fall in love with a life With apreternatural flop house for the fey and undead, just by falling in love with its leaders I m still not 100% convinced that Adrian s death wasn t a trigger happy plot ploy by Amy Lane I still feel like he was a missed opportunity and he is sorely missed in Woundedbut I am interested to read the next two books in the Little Goddess series I am loving Cory s emotional maturity and changing view of the world not to mention a brand new kick butt attitude and powers to match The romance in this book is fiery and lush, with plenty of couplings and romantic tension
