Enjoyed this exciting, suspense filled romance I liked the way the author went back and forth between the two stories, and I appreciated the strong female characters.

Bellon s writing shines in All s Fair, her latest political suspense novel When campaign expert Kristen Shepherd discovers her fianc is transferring her personal funds to a terrorist organization in Iraq, her world falls apart, literally.Kristen s brother, Brandon, is a doctor serving in Iraq and coincidentally he is captured as a prisoner of war the same time Kristen uncovers her fianc s fraud To Kristen s horror she discovers an underground operation that she never thought she d be a part Bellon s writing shines in All s Fair, her latest political suspense novel When campaign expert Kristen Shepherd discovers her fianc is transferring her personal funds to a terrorist organization in Iraq, her world falls apart, literally.Kristen s brother, Brandon, is a doctor serving in Iraq and coincidentally he is captured as a prisoner of war the same time Kristen uncovers her fianc s fraud To Kristen s horror she discovers an underground operation that she never thought she d be a part of but now must come to terms with as she risks her life to discover her brother s whereabouts. At first when I realized I d have to follow two story lines, I wondered if I d become attached to the two different set of characters But I was quickly caught up in the tale a tale that mirrors real life both in the political arena and the military life in Iraq Bellon s research was impeccable and I felt that I was immersed inside the military perils of the servicemen in Iraq I also loved how she brought sympathy and understanding to both sides of the conflict She had one American doctor going to great lengths to save a little Iraqi boy s life, and an insurgent sharing his religious feelings with an American soldier As with any war, the losses are heavy emotionally, physically and spiritually Bellon kept the upperhand and gave dignity to the fragile conflict and the ensuing emotions that consume each side. All s Fair is a compelling read well worth your time

I haven t read one of Julie s books in a long while was glad to finally get to All s Fair I liked the story ies as well as both heroes heroines I appreciated that there wasn t a lot of back story given for the couple with a history that Julie trusted her readers to be intelligent enough to figure out what happened through dialogue between the two characters I was torn because I felt like there was room for a bitadventure or in depth story yet I also liked that it didn t go on for I haven t read one of Julie s books in a long while was glad to finally get to All s Fair I liked the story ies as well as both heroes heroines I appreciated that there wasn t a lot of back story given for the couple with a history that Julie trusted her readers to be intelligent enough to figure out what happened through dialogue between the two characters I was torn because I felt like there was room for a bitadventure or in depth story yet I also liked that it didn t go on forever and was a nice manageable length As is typical in a lot of LDS fiction there was a pretty bow at the end but I found that it wasn t overdone felt appropriate Overall, well done, Julie

In JulieB s new offering, she sets the suspense tone quite well I learnedabout the inner workings of a political campaign than I knew before This story takes place in Iraq, where Brandon Shepherd and Rachel Fielding, doctors in the US Army, are kidnapped and Brandon s best friend Ryan Jameson, Brandon s sister Kristen and their military father, spearhead a rescue operation By reading this gripping novel, we learn just how much we should value our freedoms and the Iraqui s freedom With In JulieB s new offering, she sets the suspense tone quite well I learnedabout the inner workings of a political campaign than I knew before This story takes place in Iraq, where Brandon Shepherd and Rachel Fielding, doctors in the US Army, are kidnapped and Brandon s best friend Ryan Jameson, Brandon s sister Kristen and their military father, spearhead a rescue operation By reading this gripping novel, we learn just how much we should value our freedoms and the Iraqui s freedom With what is going on in Iraq, it s very difficult to determine who to trust in our war on terror I highly recommend this fast paced novel

I was really interested at first in the book, it started out really well But for me, it went down hill Maybe it s because I felt like some things weren t explained as well as I d hoped they would be I don t know why, but I felt like I was forcing myself to finish this book, and I was thrilled once I was finally done.

This book was ok I don t really have too much to nit pick about this book I think the only thing that turned me off a little bit was the relationships They just didn t seem to have much depth to them The story didn t really captivate me either It didn t transport me into the characters lives I didn t become the character, I just stayed Casey I know that sounds totally weird, but you know it s a good book when it captivates you so much that you forget for a moment that you re really at hom This book was ok I don t really have too much to nit pick about this book I think the only thing that turned me off a little bit was the relationships They just didn t seem to have much depth to them The story didn t really captivate me either It didn t transport me into the characters lives I didn t become the character, I just stayed Casey I know that sounds totally weird, but you know it s a good book when it captivates you so much that you forget for a moment that you re really at home in your PJ s reading When a book can transport you someplace you ve never been and the characters lines become your own you know you ve found a treasure This book just didn t do it for me I will say that I liked how the author had two stories going on at the same time though It s a story about a brother and a sister, and don t worry, I m not giving away anything that back cover of the book wouldn t give away if you read it So, the sister is in politics and trying to get over the fact that she left her fiance at the alter, while the brother is a doctor in Iraq He and a fellow doctor are kidnapped by terrorists and begin a love interest during their capture Meanwhile his sister back home begins to find some dark little secrets about her ex fiance All in all it was a cute story

Having friends and relatives who ve served in Iraq and Afghanistan, I found the military portions of this novel to be impressively accurate However, I was NOT impressed with the romantic story line of the protagonist, Kristen Yes, I would have reacted similarly to her fiance s deception No, I would not have run so quickly back into the arms of a guy who had treated me like dirt so many years before, who gave up so easily on a wife with a terrible addiction, and who has such dissimilar politic Having friends and relatives who ve served in Iraq and Afghanistan, I found the military portions of this novel to be impressively accurate However, I was NOT impressed with the romantic story line of the protagonist, Kristen Yes, I would have reacted similarly to her fiance s deception No, I would not have run so quickly back into the arms of a guy who had treated me like dirt so many years before, who gave up so easily on a wife with a terrible addiction, and who has such dissimilar political leanings to my own If the author could have convinced me that Ryan never meant to hurt Kristen so he SAYS , that he did everything he could have possibly done to help his addicted wife and their failing marriage no evidence in the novel , and that he and Kristen Kristy could have worked out their political disagreements SO not believable that such a responsible guy would leave the governor at such a critical time without SOME support, yet she could just walk away and have her boss take over okay, I could see it for her part I might have had a better relationship with this novel

I appreciated that it was a clean romance novel but it just wasn t my type of literature There wasn t enough conflict to grab my interest, and the actual conflict in the story was too easily resolved making it difficult to believe Maybe it s just me but the romance was cheesy, along with some of the cliches that were used I felt that the character relationships weren t developed enough and I didn t feel the emotions that the characters should have been feeling due to the minimal explanations, I appreciated that it was a clean romance novel but it just wasn t my type of literature There wasn t enough conflict to grab my interest, and the actual conflict in the story was too easily resolved making it difficult to believe Maybe it s just me but the romance was cheesy, along with some of the cliches that were used I felt that the character relationships weren t developed enough and I didn t feel the emotions that the characters should have been feeling due to the minimal explanations, especially about the character s pasts which is where a lot of the conflict really began It s not a horrible book, and I think a lot of people would enjoy reading it if they re looking for a clean easy read romance adventure I just didn t enjoy it too much because I ve read much better captivating stories and this one didn t leave me wanting
